Jhonny Corina has farmed his 8-hectare plot in Bolivia’s La Asunta municipality since 2015, intercropping Java, Gesha and Castillo alongside citrus, plantains and native forest trees. In a region long dominated by coca, he is part of a growing movement proving specialty coffee can thrive in the high, rain-fed Sud Yungas. Cherry is hand-picked and sun-dried at the farm, and this washed Java lot was grown at 1500 MASL.
