The Kii factory is operated by the Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society, which also runs the Karimikui and Kiangoi mills. Around 1,215 active smallholders tend an average of just 400 trees each on roughly a third of a hectare, continuing a regional tradition dating back to 1953. Cherries are delivered immediately after harvest, sorted, depulped and fermented overnight, then washed with fresh local river water and dried under the African sun — producing an exceptionally clean and vibrant cup.
